Site Engineer Rail – South West
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 + benefits
Location: Swindon
Region: South West
We are currently looking for a Site Engineer to work for a major civil engineering contractor based across the South West of England covering the Thames Valley area, Bristol and offices in Swindon. The ideal candidate will have at least a year\’s main contracting experience within the civil engineering industry, with rail project experience preferred.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering
- At least 1 year\’s post graduate experience working for main / regional contractor
- Rail project experience
- Must be seeking a permanent role with an eye for career development
- PTS Card
- Usual additional tickets, CSCS, SMSTS etc.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Requires a good level of communication skills
- Obtain drawings, notify any changes
- Request RFI’s and maintain tracking system to manage responses and close out
- Ensure all temporary works designs are in place
- Ensure all work is undertaken to the current drawings and specification
- Ensure setting out is undertaken in accordance with the method statement and risk assessment
- Manage the quality assurance (QA) checks, reports and files.
- Manage and co-ordinate engineering resource to carry out and gather as-built information.
- Close out defects in a timely fashion
