Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

We are currently working alongside a leading civil engineering and construction contractor to recruit an experienced Site Agent to be based on a civil highways project in Sussex valued at c£20m.

As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing various construction sites of mid-level value, ensuring project delivery aligns with customer objectives while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.

Responsibilities:

1. Be responsible for the successful delivery of projects.
2. Supervise the delivery according to the project programme.
3. Understand and interpret drawings and specifications.
4. Provide support to the project team.
5. Ensure all staff, subcontractors, and visitors are properly inducted, meet the required competencies, and hold relevant qualifications and tickets.
6. Represent the business as an ambassador to customers, the public, and official bodies.
7. Comply with company procedures and legal obligations, promoting best practices.
8. Establish safe working cultures and practices, ensuring environmental compliance.
9. Maintain and manage construction sites and subcontractors, developing positive working relationships.

About You:

1. Considerable experience in civil engineering.
2. Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control, including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting.
3. Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering.
4. SMSTS card.
5. NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
