I have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable main contractor with a turnover exceeding £100m to be the Commercial Lead on a prestigious project within an existing Private Hospital in Central London. The company has been around for close to 30 years and has continuously grown year after year. They started out as a refurbishment contractor carrying out demolition/structural alteration packages, and over the years have evolved into a reputable concrete, groundworks, structural alterations and package contractor, carrying out some challenging, complex structural projects.
They have widened their services over the years and now offer their clients full construction services within their Main Contract Division and Rail & Infrastructure Works Division, which are supported by their Plant Division. A high proportion of their work is from repeat business with clients who appreciate their flexibility and professional approach, along with their ability to get the job done the right way. The company also has a high staff retention rate which speaks volumes.
They are looking for a Commercial Lead to oversee a prestigious project within an existing Private Hospital in Central London. The project is circa £20m, Design & Build, with works including new basement construction and lift tower, fit-out of a new theatre suite featuring a glass atrium to the main entrance. The role is primarily site based but occasional visits to their offices in North West London will be necessary.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Skills and Experience Required:
- Effective Lead on 2 Stage Tender work
- Understanding Central London Refurbishments
- Working knowledge of the NEC contract Option A
- Experience of Design and Build Healthcare Sector
- Analysing Risks & Opportunities on 2 Stage Tenders
- Ability to negotiate the 2nd Stage packages with the Client team
- Setting internal project forecast / profitability targets
- Procurement Valuations
- Final Account Management
- Management of Sub-Contractor Accounts
- CVR Reporting
- Liaison with Design Team and Client
- Value Engineering
- NEC Administration
- Demonstrate previous experience of ability to deal with delay implications
- Protect the companies commercial position on the project
- Work with the team to ensure that the ER / CPs are adhered to
- Provide contractual advice internally and externally
