We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join a Top 5 UK Civil Rail Main Contractor on a new build £150m London Underground Station in North London. Working as part of the project management team, you will be reporting directly to the Project Manager and Quality Manager. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for planning and coordinating testing activities and liaising with the Package Manager to complete H&S files and ITP records. The Quality Engineer will ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and rectified.
The Quality Engineer role will involve:
- Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Support project team with QA process, review management document and lead document submission in accordance to document management plan.
- Liaise with PM and Quality Manager to plan and support QA Audits.
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, prioritise, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
- Ensure that all the records and packages are completed.
- Undertake Quality inspections.
- Monitor and promote health and safety on the site.
- Record and report any breaches to the Project Manager.
- If required, stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
- Undertake prior review of Contractor’s proposed testing & commissioning methods and schedule.
- Ensure that all the relevant records in accordance to approved ITP are in place in accordance to LUL specification and Quality Assurance Plan.
- Undertake final project snagging and prepare list of defects for Contractor’s action.
- Attend project, site progress and quality meetings as directed by the project manager.
- Monitor quality of the Contractor’s construction installations.
- Ensure that daily progress reports are produced with regards to Quality section.
Essential Criteria for this Role:
- Bachelors degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject.
- Previous Experience in a Quality Engineering Role.
- Demonstrable experience of working on LUL projects.
- Knowledge of MAID & Quality requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of working in multi-disciplinary construction teams.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
