Project Manager – Utilities

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Location: Kent
Regions: Kent, London, South East

My client is a Regional Civil / Utilities Contractor with a growing order book seeking an experienced Project Manager with Utilities experience.

The client has been established for over 10 years within the utilities sector, working on some of the most prestigious schemes in the London / SE area, maintaining a strong pipeline of work with a low staff turnover.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the business results of the project
  2. Project organisation and definition and regulation of responsibilities
  3. Communicate all project requirements to the project team
  4. Set and agree challenging stretch targets for all team members
  5. Establish communications with Client/Representative
  6. Organize the flow of information between the whole integrated project team members and third parties
  7. Implement the management system within the project team
  8. Lead HSQE management
  9. Approve Project IMS Plan and appoint duties
  10. Evaluate opportunities and risks
  11. Organise planning management
  12. Establish procurement deadlines
  13. Review and revision of contract programme
  14. Establish works packages
  15. Cooperate in the awarding of contracts to sub-contractors and suppliers
  16. Contract management and supervision of project progress
  17. Responsible for project controlling
  18. Change management process
  19. Collaborate in the recruitment of staff
  20. Identify and coordinate training requirements
  21. Represent the project to internal stakeholders with period commercial and delivery reporting

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Degree/HND in Engineering
  2. Previous experience as a Project Manager on Utilities projects
  3. Commercial, Financial, Project and Programme management experience
  4. Excellent leadership and tendering skills
  5. Good level of numeracy and IT skills – MS Office, Word, Excel etc
  6. Strong team player who is self-motivated and able to communicate with people at all levels
  7. Excellent organisation and time management skills
