A Specialist Piling contractor is seeking a Site Manager / Project Manager to join their piling team working on multi discipline projects nationally.
The individual must have a strong technical piling background and understanding of various piling techniques to manage, plan, oversee and record all aspects of key national piling projects in a safe and cost-effective manner. Working closely with Clients and Senior Management to ensure projects are on schedule, on budget and safely delivered to the Client by managing the local area office influence. This will include providing support to local area offices, helping co-ordinate projects and tracking progress both operationally and commercially.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Managing the performance of key Piling projects within the business
- Liaison with internal staff at area offices, central support, design, production, distribution and external clients
- Management of Programme from procurement to account settlement
- Carrying out pre-start site visits and maintaining a senior presence on site during main piling works
- Attending meetings with clients
- Ensure compliance with QA procedures, Health & Safety, and statutory requirements
- Produce monthly report on current projects stating safety, commercial, operational and relationship issues
- To develop the foundation business through good service
- Managing plant, materials, labour and sub-contractors alongside area offices to complete works
- To control cost and efficiencies associated with the business
- Continuous improvement in safety through design management and working practices
- Effectively manage the Operational elements of the business through the Contracts Managers and Site Engineers including regular project meetings with Commercial team, designers, production and subcontractors to ensure projects are run safely and cost effectively
