Looking to speak to an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing civil engineering contractor delivering major highways and infrastructure projects across the North West. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong highways and civils experience to play a key role in the successful delivery of projects ranging from local authority works to national infrastructure frameworks.

Working closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors, you will be responsible for managing commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring profitability, compliance, and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial aspects of highways and civil engineering projects from pre‑construction through to final account
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts
  • Monitor project costs, variations, forecasts, and cash flow
  • Procure and manage subcontractor packages and payments
  • Support project teams with commercial advice and contractual matters
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and company procedures
  • Produce accurate monthly CVRs and commercial reports
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to maintain strong working relationships
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways and civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts
  • Experience working on highways maintenance, infrastructure, road improvement, or associated civils schemes
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
