The predicted salary is between 42000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are looking for a Machine Surfacing Supervisor to work within the Surrey/Sussex and mainly South East Area. Our clients' services include highways term maintenance, street lighting and electrical services, surfacing, traffic management infrastructure projects within both the private and public sector.
The Machine Surfacing Supervisor will manage the on-site operations of the Surfacing Division providing machine and hand lay bituminous surfacing across the area. You will be health and safety conscious and will ensure works are carried out to the required standards at all times.
Main Responsibilities:- Supervise and manage maintenance works carried out working with budget and timelines.
- Ensure that the labour and resources are employed to meet the operational requirements.
- Ensure all operatives are suitably qualified and trained for delivery.
- Manage all costs, outputs and performance to maximise profit recovery and minimise abortive and remedial work.
- Build and manage relationships with Clients, customers and supply chain.
- Keep accurate records of works carried out including measure and reconciliation.
- Plan, programme and manage operations to ensure that the most cost-effective methods are being used.
- Ensure that H&S processes and requirements are fully implemented across the board.
- Ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are carried out and that others engaged in the delivery of site-based activities are fully briefed prior to carrying future works.
- To ensure the minimum amount of waste is generated.
- Report any incidents or accidents through the correct channels.
- Deliver inductions and tool box talks to all site staff, both direct or contracting.
- Ensure all QMS forms are submitted to Contracts Co-ordinator.
- Ensure that labour, plant and material programmes are forwarded to the contracts co-ordinator in sufficient time for the requirements to be ordered.
- Ensure site measures are agreed with clients to mitigate any delays with invoice payments.
- Able to carry out regular HSEQ audits on site.
- Proven track record in effective management and delivery of surfacing operations.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and of highway specifications i.e. material types etc.
- Strong co-ordination and experience of surfacing.
- Enthusiastic, honest and straightforward approach.
