A major civil engineering contractor is seeking a senior project manager to work on their rail sector, managing multiple rail depots based in Norwich on a multi-million pound project. The project will last up to 3 years with a value of £20 million pounds. The Project Manager will require knowledge of tendering as well as project delivery experience within the Civil Rail Environment.

Key Duties include:

  • Responsible for the business results of the project
  • Project organisation and definition and regulation of responsibilities
  • Communicate all project requirements to the project team
  • Set and agree challenging stretch targets for all team members
  • Establish communications with Client/Representative
  • Organise the flow of information between the whole integrated project team members and third parties
  • Implement the management system within the project team
  • Lead HSQE management
  • Approve Project IMS Plan and appoint duties
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks
  • Organise planning management
  • Establish procurement deadlines
  • Review and revision of contract programme
  • Establish works packages
  • Cooperate in the awarding of contracts to sub contractors and suppliers
  • Contract management and supervision of project progress
  • Responsible for project controlling
  • Change management process
  • Identify and coordinate training requirements
  • Represent the project to internal stakeholders with period commercial and delivery reporting
  • Collaborate in the recruitment of staff

What we are looking for:

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager on Civil Rail projects
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent leadership and tendering skills
  • Valid Full UK Drivers licence
