We are currently seeking an Earthworks / Remediation General Foreman to work for a main Civil Contractor who works across the UK specializing in a variety of civil engineering sectors with a primary focus on a Bulk Earthworks / Remediation package on a very prestigious infrastructure scheme.
The Ideal Candidate must have previous bulk earthwork/ remediation experience working within the construction industry and leading a sizable team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the site.
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
- Control and monitor all activities on site.
- Support the achievement of perfect delivery.
- Ensure the daily programming of all site works is performed in accordance with the company construction program.
- In conjunction with the project manager, site engineer and construction manager, plan and review overall status of project(s) on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure all site resources (labour, machinery, materials, sub-contractors etc.) are effectively utilised and monitored in order to achieve timely completion of projects.
- Identify and record any possible variations to the contract, ensuring the project manager / construction manager is promptly notified.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements are adhered to on site at all times.
- Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Company's SHEQ policies and procedures, ensuring all site personnel adhere to them at all times.
- Ensure the appropriate safety equipment is worn by site personnel at all times.
- Ensure that all requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people or property are declined.
- Ensure all the applicable quality checklists are properly completed.
As an experienced foreman, you will ideally be educated to NVQ Level 3, have experience working on large projects and have previous experience at supervisory level. Knowledge of traditional construction activities is essential. Please only apply if seeking a permanent role.
