I have a great opportunity for an Estimator to join an award-winning main contractor on a permanent basis, based from their offices near Hornchurch, Essex.
The company have been around for approximately 30 years, delivering a range of construction projects throughout London and the South East. They are very quality driven and innovative and have earned a reputation for consistently delivering a range of high quality projects, which has resulted in them winning a lot of repeat business from their clients.
They work in both the public and private sectors, carrying out both new build and refurbishment projects with Government Departments, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals and Charitable Trusts. They also carry out office fit out and refurbishment projects and heritage projects.
They are looking for an experienced Estimator to lead financial tenders from the initial cost plan stage through to final negotiations. The Estimator will need to have a strong track record working on a range of projects for a reputable main contractor.
Responsibilities
- Detailed Cost Plans
- Collating and preparing KPIs and benchmarking to assist in cost plan preparation
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities
- Preparation of house / flat type schedules / BoQs
- Assisting with the coordination on specialist subcontract procurement packages
- Prepare and tender packaged and procure items of work in preparation of cost plans
- Establish and maintain a library of cost data
- To investigate the suitability and price of new products / methods and undertake cost comparisons
- To liaise with all departments to ensure that data and build knowledge is utilised within the cost plans
Experience and Qualifications
- Ideally Degree qualified or other professional body membership
- Strong track record working for a reputable main contractor
- A good understanding of multiple projects across a range of sectors
- Strong commitment to achieving deadlines
- Positive attitude towards teamwork
- Able to commute to Essex (near Hornchurch) on a daily basis
- Full UK driving license
