A great opportunity for a Bid Writer to join an award-winning main contractor on a permanent basis, based from their offices near Hornchurch, Essex. The company has been around for approximately 30 years, delivering a range of construction projects throughout London and the South East. They are very quality driven and innovative and have earned a reputation for consistently delivering a range of high-quality projects, which has resulted in them winning a lot of repeat business from their clients.
They work in both the public and private sectors, carrying out both new build and refurbishment projects with Government Departments, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals and Charitable Trusts. They also carry out office fit-out and refurbishment projects and heritage projects.
The company is looking for a Bid Writer that has excellent technical knowledge; a very good understanding of construction processes and the delivery side of projects, be able to understand drawings and talk with authority. The Bid Writer will need to demonstrate a working knowledge of bidding regulations and sustainable codes and have an appreciation of sector guidance documents. You will have a good understanding of tender processes and possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as programme, commercial and contractual awareness to effectively manage the tender process.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all bids within the department to ensure consistent content, message and presentation.
- Ensure all bids have a win strategy that is communicated to all team members and reflected in the submission.
- Manage specific bids from receipt of tender documentation to handover to the production team.
- Lead the tender team at Bidders Conferences, Mid-term interviews and post tender interviews as required.
