My client is a leading UK residential developer who specialises in luxury high-end traditional build houses and apartments. They are looking to expand their team with the addition of an experienced Buyer to step into a Senior position for their prestigious developments within the home counties.
This is an office-based position, where you will report into the Commercial Manager and work closely with the procurement team on their current/new residential developments of almost 200 new build homes. As a Senior Buyer, you will be procuring materials to meet the build programme of this project.
Some of your duties in this role are as follows:
- Procuring brickwork, carpentry and sanitary materials
- Hiring plant e.g. cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes etc.
- Compiling monthly reports on budgeting control on all materials
- Resolving supplier disputes
- Supporting the estimating team with pre-tender quotations and resolving material specification issues
Experience Required
- At least 5 years of procurement experience with a residential property developer
- Experience with procuring materials for new concrete builds
- Sound knowledge of construction techniques
- Comprehension of building, environmental and disability standards
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Proven track record and stable UK employment with residential construction experience with a recognised developer
