A regional civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Project / Contracts Manager to work within their civil engineering team responsible for multiple schemes within the southern region, predominantly Surrey / Hampshire and Sussex. They are successful in delivering a number of high-profile projects and to accommodate available workload and future expansion, there are exciting opportunities for Project / Contracts Managers to work on projects within Highways, Structures, Environmental Agency, groundworks and infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working in a variety of civil engineering sectors including roads/highways
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative

Responsibilities:

  • To profitably complete projects in accordance with the clients' specifications and to ensure client satisfaction where possible
  • To plan resources and ensure any shortfalls / over-resourcing issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • To coordinate and manage any interface with other parts of the division
  • To ensure all personnel within your control including subcontractors work in accordance with the company policies, are trained, competent and aware and in particular work safely
  • To jointly prepare project Cost Value Reports & Contract Status Reports with commercial staff
  • To liaise with estimating to provide value engineering expertise, lessons learnt etc. to allow the division to submit quality, competitive tenders to our clients
  • To deliver project schemes profitably and to time to enhance reputation and look to further business
  • To assist in recognising new client targets and developing an approach to target with the Commercial Manager
  • Ability to manage all personnel within your control professionally and effectively
