A reputable Main Contractor based in East London has an excellent opportunity for a Design Co-ordinator to join them on a permanent basis. The company specialises in the delivery of top quality projects across London and the Home Counties for both private and public sector clients, on a range of projects. They work in the Commercial, Education, Industrial, Healthcare, Residential, Social Housing and Retail sectors, carrying out new build, refurbishment, fit-out, restoration and maintenance projects, between £50,000 to £5m in value.
As a business, they are very client focussed and provide sustainable and value for money projects, delivered through effective planning and communication, and a partnership ethos that builds early trust and integration with their clients. They are looking for an experienced Design Co-ordinator with at least 8 years’ experience working for a reputable Main Contractor, with a track record of working on multiple types of projects across a range of sectors. Responsibilities- Obtaining Technical Drawings to enable efficient site starts
- Gain approvals to ensure that sites commence on time
- Minimising risk through uncoordinated information
- Oversee preparation of the optimisation plans through to approval
- Brief and drive the external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information to an agreed programme, fee and scope
- Prepare technical specifications in line with requirements determined
- Attend site progress meetings and carry out site inspection
- Attend meetings at various stages of projects
- Ensuring current drawings are filed in order
- Track record working for a reputable Main Contractor
- Experience of coordinating and providing technical guidance and support to multiple projects across a range of different sectors
- Ideally Degree Qualified / HNC / ONC
- Strong Design and construction knowledge
- Good Technical and Building Construction knowledge
- Building Regulations knowledge
