Job Overview
My client, a regional civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Design Co-ordinator / Engineer. The role is based at the head office with travel to projects within the region.
Main Duties
- Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors
- Provide assistance and advice regarding design input required at tender stage
- Assist in building designer and integrated teams
- Manage and review consultant and sub-contractor design work; maintain the approved design consultant register
- Provide advice and assistance to site staff on design matters
- Provide advice on planning
- Advise on the appropriateness of technical solutions
- Act as Design Co-ordinator during tender and construction stages as required
- Advise on design responsibilities under CDM 2015
Candidate Requirements
- Experience managing site staff and sub-contractors
- Strong collaborative communication skills
- An engineering background to envisage scheme construction
