Commercial Manager – Utilities
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000
Location: North West London
Pinnacle Recruitment are currently looking for a Commercial Manager to work for one of the fastest growing Utility Engineering contractors in the UK!
We are looking for someone who has experience working on large utility, civil engineering or power projects.
The purpose of the role is to manage the day-to-day utility contracting applications, providing key insight during all pre and post contract commercial activities to ensure the clients financial and contractual position is clearly understood and accurately reported at all times.
Duties
- To take responsibility in conjunction with the operational management team for the effective management of the supply chain and direct resources within acceptable commercial and operational parameters for small to large high volume projects.
- Managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff.
- Monitoring and reporting cash, revenue, and cost positions across all cost centres, forecasting on trends and facilitating management intervention where appropriate.
- Identification of change and the management of the change management process.
- Early identification of potential dispute facilitating early intervention and resolution.
- Management of all ensuing disputes.
- Manage the financial position of contracts with relation to invoice sales, works in progress, accruals, debts, retentions, and cash paid.
- Responsible for the provision of accurate management reports.
- Effective financial close of commercial activities at contract end including the final accounting of all subcontract accounts
Requirements
- Previous experience of working within utility/civil engineering contracting, for a utility sub contractor.
- Previous experience in acommercial leadership role.
- Good problem-solving skills, the ability to anticipate potential problems and overcome them effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in PC operating systems (Word / Excel / Outlook).
- Full UK Driving License.
- RICS membership is desirable but not essential.
