My client is an established construction company that has expanded its business and is currently seeking an experienced sales manager/business development manager to join their growing team. The successful candidate will work closely with the director to further expand the company.
The ideal candidate should be proactive and enterprising. The role involves seeking new opportunities, establishing new leads, and converting existing leads.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Researching new sales avenues, companies, and contacts
- Keeping up to date with competitors’ activities and industry news
- Pitching to potential clients
- Cold calling
- Attending industry events
- Visiting sites across the UK to establish new leads, monitor existing leads, and track company activities on site
- Maintaining effective relationships with staff at all levels within the company, with sister companies, and externally with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and third parties
- Leading, motivating, developing, and performance managing staff where required
- Monitoring sales performance and reporting to the director
Mandatory skills & experience:
- Prior experience in sales and business development
- Proficiency in Word & Excel
- Excellent spoken English
- Own a car
Availability:
Full-time, 9:00–17:00, Monday to Friday
Based in Paddington (4-minute walk from the station; parking not available)
Remuneration:
Up to £40k basic salary (DOE)
Travel and expenses paid
Uncapped earnings on typically six & seven-figure sales contracts
OTE £80k–£100k
