A leading main contractor in London is looking for a buyer to join their team. This company has a turnover of over £100m and produces developments with a high level of finish. Our client is an exciting new player making its mark on the booming construction industry. The purpose of the Buyer will be to carry out plant and material procurement for the respective business units and divisions of the company. The role involves providing support to the Procurement Manager and their procurement initiatives.
Key Duties:
Placement of plant and material orders for our relevant sites
Analysing received quotes for packages and using negotiation skills to achieve the best price.
In charge of procurement schedules liaising with commercial and site teams. Once a month reporting to the procurement manager.
Liase and discuss with site managers and project manager on the ideal procurement method for each individual site
Criteria:
Track record working for main contractors or residential developers
Good communication skills
Excellent all round construction skills
Able to commute to London
