A leading glazed partitioning contractor that specialise in the high end commercial fit out market have an excellent opportunity for a Buyer / Procurement Co-Ordinator to join them on a permanent basis, based from their offices in Central London. The company turnover circa £20m and provide a range of bespoke solutions up to £6m in value to a number of leading clients in the industry. They provide a range of glazed partitioning, aluminium extrusions, drywall and joinery doorset packages, automatic sliding glass door systems, glazed fire screens and doorsets, switchable glass, back painted glass and LED edge-lite glass.
With over £20m of contracts secured for the next year, they are extremely busy and as a result are looking to strengthen their commercial team by bringing in a Buyer / Procurement Co-Ordinator. The Buyer / Procurement Co-Ordinator will be responsible for managing the product purchasing and management as follows:
- Negotiating the price, payment terms and appropriate delivery dates
- Placing the Purchase Orders and updating the PO Log
- Tracking the order to ensure it is on plan and gets delivered correctly and on time
- Manage all appropriate paperwork to be issued and updated in order to track the stock to the specific project number, ensuring correct cost allocation
- Accurate daily updating of the stock movement
- Tracking of the usage of stock items to assess how many of each frequently used items to safely bulk buy in order to achieve best possible price
Criteria:
- Experience working in a procurement role for a reputable contractor within the construction industry
- Experience of bulk buying / stock strategy
- Accurate and prudent stock management skills in order to prevent redundant stock build up
- Experience procuring the following materials will be highly advantageous; glass, ironmongery, components, doors, seals, packers, adhesives, veneered panels, fabric panels, MFC panels, Rockwood, plant (tool boxes, podiums, drills etc.)
- High level of computer literacy
- Able to create detailed delivery schedules (on Microsoft Project)
- Excellent negotiation skills and good relationships with suppliers
- Strong communication skills
