An award-winning contractor is currently looking to add a Bid Manager to their Pre-Construction team based in Central London. You will be leading tenders on key bids for the business, with major clients. In order to continue winning multimillion £ projects to grow their rail portfolio, you will be expected to demonstrate a winning mentality.
Responsibilities:
- Bid management work for civil engineering tenders received within the London office, and supporting the estimating/planning team in delivering a competitive and qualitative bid.
- To work with limited supervision and be able to utilise your experience to develop construction solutions to deliver schemes, as part of a larger bid team.
- To work in tandem with other members of the bid team for specific bids in developing the best solution.
- To input into the overall strategy and methodology of construction.
- To develop and prepare sections of pre-qualification and quality submissions.
- To present to customers in respect of key elements of bids.
- Liaise and share best practice with other Bid Managers in the region and other regions.
- To review supply chain suitability and liaise on technical issues.
Requirements:
- Preferably degree level in civil engineering or related construction subject.
- Extensive experience with Civil & Rail and Infrastructure Works.
- Civil engineering main contractor background – preferably includes a good mix of £1m – £20m schemes, with experience at site management level or above required.
- Commercial awareness essential.
- Previous bid management experience will be an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
