We are looking to recruit an experienced Environmental Manager to work for a UK leading civils contractor based in Suffolk. Must have Highways Experience.
You will be environmental lead throughout the business providing advice during detailed design into construction on various highways projects across the South East and East Anglia. You will be providing specialist environmental advice to support ongoing operations and ensure the business remains compliant with all environmental legislation. You will also mentor other members of the team and develop strong relationships with stakeholders.
Duties
- Assist in the review of documentation (review of environmental documentation e.g., environmental statement, flood modelling, noise modelling, ecology surveys etc.)
- Provide written environmental reports, management plans and strategies as needed.
- Provide advice, support and assistance to operational and project personnel to enable them to deliver and manage their environmental and sustainable responsibilities and objectives.
- Assist the environmental lead and wider Infrastructure environmental team in any best practice initiatives and delivering ad-hoc improvement projects.
- Assist in the development and delivery of suitable environmental and sustainability training for all project staff.
- Represent and promote the Environment Enabling Function in internal and external meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums – communicating best practice standards and initiatives.
- Write, update, review and ensure compliance with the project Construction Environmental Management Plan, Site Waste Management Plan, other relevant environmental management plans and associated documentation.
Skills / Qualifications
- Must have highways experience
- Degree level in appropriate Environmental or relevant discipline
- Substantiated construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector
- Minimum Practitioner Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects/ contracts in region
- Competent IT skills
