Position
A progressive multidisciplinary based in the city of London are keen to speak to a Chartered Surveyor at Associate level with the ability to carry out development monitoring / project monitoring and due diligence services to their clients who are lenders and investors in a variety of construction projects (residential, retail, commercial and industrial) across the UK.
As the successful candidate you will be expected to develop and lead your own client portfolio, working alongside the Partner in charge of the Development Monitoring Department to grow the business as a whole.
This is an excellent opportunity for you if you’re seeking promotion and eventually wanting to become a Partner with the flexibility and autonomy of necessary for a role like this.
This role will report into the Head of Development Monitoring for the firm.
Main Responsibilities
- To provide due diligence advice to lenders and investors of development to protect their interests.
- Prepare initial due diligence reports on all aspects of a development and carry out regular inspections during the construction phase of a project.
- Managing and prioritising work to facilitate client requirements at busy points.
- Significant client and third party contact.
- Identifying new leads and growing client relationships through the delivery process.
- Taking a leading role in supporting the growth of the service line.
Person Specification
- Essential Criteria (qualifications, experience, skills, qualities etc)
- You will have at least seven years’ post qualification experience in Bank/Fund monitoring.
- You will hold MRICS status or equivalent.
- Ability to deliver Initial Reports and Interim Report on complex projects with construction values from £20M to upwards of £300M+ across different sectors, with minimal input from senior colleagues.
- Ability to balance a varied workload meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
- Ability to use your own initiative to provide professional and accurate advice directly to Clients.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Experience of developing client relationships and have a network of contacts within the funding/development arena.
- Track record of achieving fee and new business targets.
