An Assistant Mechanical Estimator is required to work for a Main Contractor in London. You will be working on a range of different projects including residential, healthcare, commercial and heritage schemes valuing up to £10m. This Main Contractor has a strong name in the construction industry with an impressive track record and a lot of repeated contracts from previous clients.
Duties
- Preparation and submission of electrical and mechanical tenders.
- Review enquiries and identifying items from manufacturers and subcontractors, speaking with clients to resolve queries.
- Speaking with suppliers and subcontractors over identified services, ensuring that the services they offer are compliant with clients’ needs.
- Taking off quantities from drawings and putting them onto the correct system.
- Ensuring deadlines are achieved where possible, and keeping all involved informed of any delays.
- Maintaining a high level of drive, energy and initiative, remaining proactive, focused, tenacious and committed.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience as a Site Manager.
- Degree qualified in construction management or relevant trade experience.
- Main contracting experience.
- Good numeracy and computer skills.
- Knowledge of materials and construction methods.
- Working well as part of a team.
- Capability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills.
