Our Service Centre in Dyce, Aberdeen, focuses on providing high-quality rotating equipment repairs for the North Sea Oil & Gas industry. We are seeking skilled Pump Technicians to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary
The Pump Technician / Fitter plays a key role in the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of a wide range of rotating equipment—primarily pumps. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a dedicated team handling diverse equipment from contracted Oil & Gas customers. A strong mechanical background, excellent teamwork skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble pumps and accurately record dimensional findings for the Pump Repair Plan.
- Assess components for repair, reclamation, or replacement as required.
- Perform component repairs, including fitting of new wear parts, dynamic balancing, and pressure testing.
- Reassemble pumps in accordance with the Repair Plan, work instructions, and applicable standards (e.g., API 610).
- Assist in preparing detailed service reports in line with company and customer standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and resolve root causes of equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Time-served mechanical fitter or engineer.
- Proven experience in servicing, fitting, and assembly of pumps and rotating equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and repair documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work overtime as required.
- Honest, reliable, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.
