Overview
As Pinnacle Pet Group continues to grow, we are seeking a Solicitor/Senior Solicitor to join our Legal team. You will provide legal advice and assistance to all entities in the Pinnacle Pet Group which are based in the UK.
The role will be at a level which would normally be suitable for individuals with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience (for a Solicitor role) or 7 years’ post qualification experience (for a Senior Solicitor role) but we would welcome applications from any candidate who can demonstrate the essential skills and necessary competencies.

Location: This role is hybrid with some office presence required in our offices in London Paddington and Borehamwood.
Responsibilities
As a key member of our in‑house legal team, you’ll play a central role in supporting the business with high‑quality commercial and regulatory advice. You’ll take ownership of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements—from distribution and introducer contracts to IT, outsourcing and bespoke documentation for new projects. You’ll also ensure our legal and regulatory documents remain compliant and up to date, while championing good outcomes for retail customers through clear, customer‑focused decision‑making. You’ll provide practical and commercially astute legal guidance across the Group on insurance‑related regulatory matters, strategic initiatives, and day‑to‑day queries. You’ll manage relationships with external counsel where needed and contribute to our Legal Watch process, helping us stay ahead of emerging legal and regulatory developments. With strong communication skills, you’ll translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice and support the resolution of disputes and claims.
Qualifications
- Solicitor or Barrister; qualified in English law
- In house experience (possibly via secondment) or a strong private practice background
- Experience ideally in general insurance, or another regulated financial services environment
- Capable of undertaking a wide and varied caseload
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Extensive experience in drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts
- Ability to advise and engage with all levels of the business including senior management
- Assertive and robust in giving sound commercial advice and complying with Group procedures
- Ability to rely on own judgement and make commercial decisions, but also to seek and engage with the rest of the team and external legal advisers where required
- Adaptable – our Group is going through a significant period of change
- Self‑starter, results driven and able to achieve objectives independently
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience in the following would be desirable
- Advising on Data Protection issues
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating IT contracts
- Experience in advising on Outsourcing contracts
- Experience in Employment law
- Experience in Competition Law
