People Shared Services Manager – Pinnacle Pet Group

We are seeking a People Shared Services Manager to join our People Team. This role is remote (UK based) with occasional travel to London.

Package: Salary up to ÂŁ52,000 per annum (dependent on experience), 24 days holiday plus birthday day, life assurance, private medical insurance, and a range of employee benefits.

Reporting into the Head of People Operations, you will oversee day‑to‑day delivery of all HR operations and payroll services, including the management of joiners, leavers, contracts, employee data, HR documentation and the governance of outsourced payroll delivery. You will drive automation, standardisation and data accuracy while managing remote teams and outsourced providers.

We are looking for a resilient leader with expertise in HR administration, UK payroll, and systems such as Sage, Kronos and Workday. You will deliver transformation within a Shared Service context and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.

What we look for in you as a People Shared Services Manager

  • Extensive HR operations and UK payroll experience, ideally in shared service or multi‑site settings.
  • Proven track record in leading end‑to‑end HR operations, ideally in shared service or multi‑site settings.
  • Strong UK payroll knowledge, including PAYE, NI, statutory pay, pensions and HMRC compliance.
  • Experience managing outsourced payroll providers, including governance, reconciliations and performance monitoring.
  • Commercially aware, with experience delivering payroll insights to senior leaders.
  • Hands‑on experience with Sage, Kronos and Workday systems.
  • Proven leadership of remote teams with a focus on performance and engagement.
  • Solid understanding of employment law, GDPR and data governance.
  • Expertise in process improvement, automation and service optimisation.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management across functions.
  • Fluent in English; other European languages a plus.
  • Leadership of remote teams and vendor management.
  • Passion for process improvement and technology enablement.
