As Doubtless Pet Care continues to grow, we are seeking an Actuarial Analyst – Reserving, Monitoring & Planning to join our Actuarial Finance team.

The Role: Actuarial Analyst
We're looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Actuarial Finance team at an exciting time of growth. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your actuarial career within a collaborative and supportive environment, gaining exposure to reserving, financial reporting, business planning and risk management while building a broad actuarial skill set and supporting a wide range of business stakeholders.
You'll help produce and validate reserving analyses, investigate trends in claims performance and loss ratios, and transform complex data into clear, actionable insights that support business decision-making.
You'll also work closely with colleagues across Finance, Underwriting and Risk, contributing to reinsurance and underwriting risk monitoring activities and helping to shape our understanding of business performance. Alongside this, you'll support key financial reporting, audit and regulatory activities, maintaining high-quality actuarial models, data and documentation within a strong governance framework.
You'll have the opportunity to develop both your technical actuarial expertise and commercial understanding while contributing to projects that support the continued growth of the business.
You'll also be supported by experienced actuarial professionals and have opportunities to develop your technical, analytical and commercial skills as you progress your career.

What we look for in you
Essential
- Experience applying actuarial, analytical or statistical techniques within insurance or a similar data-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience producing accurate analysis and calculations.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality, controls and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to a range of audiences.
- Organised and collaborative, with the ability to manage priorities and take ownership of work.
Desirable
- Understanding of data science principles and their application in actuarial analysis.
- Knowledge of general insurance reserving and claims analysis.
- Experience of insurance financial reporting, business planning, reinsurance, Solvency II or underwriting risk.
- Experience within pet insurance or personal lines insurance.
- Experience using actuarial software (e.g. ResQ, Emblem) or programming tools such as SQL, Python, R or VBA.
Qualifications
- Degree in a numerate subject or equivalent analytical experience.
- Progress towards an actuarial qualification is desirable.
