About Us
At Pet Database, we help pet owners, animal lovers, and rescue organisations protect, reunite, and care for the animals they love. We’re on a mission to fix what’s broken in the UK’s pet microchipping and lost pet systems, and we’re growing fast. We work with everyone from pet owners and animal rescues to vets, dog wardens, breeders, and local councils giving them the tools to register, update, and protect pets through a simple, accessible platform. We’re part of a larger group with multiple brands, but we run like a lean startup - building fast, listening to users, and solving real-world problems that matter.
The Role
We're looking for an Influencer & Community Manager who genuinely cares about animals and the people who look after them. This role has two equally important sides: building and managing influencer partnerships that put Pet Database (+ our other brands!) in front of the right audiences, and owning our community across social channels, rescue networks, and real-world events. You'll also be the person who schedules and publishes all planned content (sitting at the intersection of production and community) and making sure everything that goes out lands at the right moment. We want someone who wants to build something real within the animal loving community!
What You'll Be Doing
- Scheduling & content calendar: Schedule and publish all content delivered by the Digital Content Creator: reels, static images and stories. Own the publishing calendar and make real-time calls on timing based on what's happening in the community, trending moments, or audience behaviour. Post reactive stories throughout the day, such as events, community moments, influencer reshares, rescue stories to keep the brand feeling alive and present. Be the team's ear to the ground: you talk to more pet owners, creators, and rescue workers than anyone else on the team, and that insight should shape what we make.
- Community management: Own the daily management of Pet Database's (+ other brands’) presence across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok: responding to comments, DMs, messages, and reviews promptly and in our brand voice. Build and manage our presence in Facebook rescue groups and local community groups, helping us reach rescue organisations at scale. Explore building a presence on Reddit down the line: a bonus if you have experience there!
- Influencer marketing: Identify, approach, and manage relationships with pet influencers and lifestyle influencers across Instagram & TikTok. Negotiate and manage gifting, affiliate partnerships, and paid collaboration agreements, working within budget and brand guidelines set by the Brand Lead. Brief influencers clearly and ensure content produced aligns with our brand voice, campaign goals, and platform best practices. Track influencer campaign performance (reach, engagement, signups driven) and report back with clear insights on what's working. Lead outreach to rescue organisations and shelters via Facebook groups, DMs, email, and cold outreach - with a data-driven approach to how you prioritise and segment. Manage rescue leads from first contact through to onboarding, working closely with ops and product. On occasion: Assisting with website updates and optimisation for the rescues, to improve search engine rankings and user experience.
- Events & real-world community: Represent Pet Database at relevant events around London and beyond (dog shows, rescue fundraisers, local animal welfare events) to grow the brand and bring in new partners. Come up with fresh ideas to engage our community IRL, beyond what we do on social media. Work closely with our Digital Content Creator so the best community moments make it into our content.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in community management, social media, partnerships, or a closely related role.
- Demonstrable experience managing online communities (Facebook groups, Instagram, Reddit, or similar) with real engagement growth to show for it.
- Comfortable with outreach and relationship-building at scale, from cold DMs to longer-term partner comms.
- Strong written communication skills, as you'll be representing the brand in hundreds of conversations every week.
- Organised and data-aware: you'll manage a pipeline and track community KPIs without dropping the ball.
- Happy to get out and about for events as part of the role.
