As Pinnacle Pet Group continues to grow, we are seeking an Actuarial Analyst - Capital & Reporting to join our Actuarial team. You will primarily manage the production of actuarial deliverables into the company’s Solvency II processes (Pillars I, II and III) under the supervision of the Head of Department and in collaboration with other functions (e.g., Finance, Risk). You will also support the department and the wider actuarial teams with operational and business transformation projects and other ad-hoc actuarial studies.
Responsibilities
- Lead production of actuarial outputs for Solvency II (annual/quarterly), including BEL, risk margin, underwriting SCR, templates, and report contributions.
- Support the ORSA process, including prospective capital assessment, stress testing, and validation of the standard formula.
- Maintain and enhance governance frameworks, documentation, and review processes.
- Guide and review work produced by analyst team members.
- Provide actuarial expertise to Finance, Risk, Pricing, and external stakeholders such as auditors.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and adoption of new tools across the team.
- Support actuarial input into statutory accounts and budget forecasting.
- Contribute to team development and upskilling initiatives.
- Ensure positive customer outcomes by upholding high standards of care and enabling effective customer decisions.
Qualifications
- Qualified Actuary (or very nearly qualified would be considered)
- Insurance experience, ideally within the pet insurance industry
- Capital Solvency II experience, and ideally: Pillar I, II & III, TP and SCR
- Internal model would be an advantage
- Strong analytical and statistical skills with high attention to detail
- Advanced IT and coding skills (including advanced Excel)
- Creative problem‑solving with a drive to develop new solutions
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with database systems or programming (e.g., SQL, Python, Power Query)
- People management experience
