Pinnacle Group is looking for a highly organised Transportation Scheduler to manage the day-to-day administrative and operational support to our logistics team.
You will be joining our Workplace FM Team based at Carrington, Manchester M31.
Pinnacle Workplace delivers tailored facilities management solutions across cleaning, security, catering and specialist industrial services.
With nearly 600 colleagues nationwide, the team supports clients in manufacturing, retail, education and office environments.
Your role will involve arranging and organising transportation of bulk and packed vehicles, using the Delivery Due List (DDL) and Warehouse Management (WM) module to allocate stock by liaising with internal and external contacts such as Customer Services, Hauliers, Customs Officials, etc., managing the SAP extra costs for transportation and providing customs information as required.
This is a permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm.
Please note that there are no public transport links to the location, so applicants must have their own means of transport.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities will include
- Schedule the transportation requirements of the PP plant for both bulk and packed products, including shipping into the UK, Europe and international destinations.
- Liaise with the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) to ensure warehouse and shipping office activities are optimised.
- Identify the requirements for container loading and coordinate the activities required to ensure smooth collection and dispatch.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure all international shipping requirements are understood by Carrington and transmitted to warehouse teams.
- Arrange customs documentation after collecting routing information and preparing SAP deliveries with information required for customs activities.
- Coordinate the booking of all extra costs related to shipping activities from the Carrington site, including costs related to customer returns, re‑routing, demurrage and other surcharges.
- Liaise with sales and hauliers to meet customer delivery dates.
- Investigate haulier complaints and provide information for management.
- Check the Delivery Due screen for customer orders that are due for delivery, confirm with haulier that they can meet the customer delivery date, assign product to the order using an agreed stock rotation policy, and check that the vehicle arrives to load on time to meet the required delivery date.
- Liaise with other on‑site logistics group members, such as plant schedulers, stock management, warehouse group, and other members of the dispatch office.
- Manage the DDL/TMS systems with reference to customer‑specific requirements.
- Carry out haulier reviews of performance with hauliers at least on an annual basis.
- Learn and develop competency in other key roles within the logistics team to ensure full business efficiency, multi‑skilling, appreciation of the duties of colleagues, and the ability to further develop own career.
- Coordinate “Bags to Bulk” activities within the logistics and warehouse teams.
Key Essential* requirements will include
- Access to own transport due to location.
- Experience operating in an SAP environment.
- Experience in excess of 5 years within a similar shipping and warehousing environment is preferred.
- NVQ3 level or equivalent in manufacturing or supply chain based learning.
- Must be fluent in written and verbal English.
- Effective in a variety of communication settings, listen to others, provide timely and helpful information to others, encourage expression of diverse ideas and opinions.
- Competent in a wide range of MS Office applications including Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel.
