We are looking for an experienced Handy Person to join our Total Facilities Management Team. Principal location: Hull HU7, may also include HU3/HU6. Full-time permanent, Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm with occasional evening, weekend coverage and a one‑in‑five week call‑out rota. A shared company electric van will be provided. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate labour for any voids at the site and raise any required contractors’ labour to the Facilities Manager & Contract Manager.
  • Ensure all statutory maintenance work is completed as per the programme and to a high standard.
  • Conduct compliance work including Legionella (L8) water hygiene testing, fire & sprinkler testing, fire door inspections and emergency lighting.
  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager & Contract Manager to reduce reactive maintenance inefficiencies.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonable management instruction within the role’s skill level.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proactive, detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training to enhance electrical, plumbing and fabrication skills.
  • Relevant knowledge of health & safety, building codes and regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • The appointment is subject to a satisfactory Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and is Disability Confident.
