Pinnacle Group are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Total FM team to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services. In this role you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and compliance tasks across a patch of schools in Slough, helping to create a safe and supportive setting for students and staff alike.
The Total FM team provides integrated asset management and maintenance services across the education, leisure, corporate, health and living sectors to ensure facilities operate at their best. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong knowledge of health and safety and statutory compliance, confidence in delivering PPM, minor electrical works, EML testing and remedial repairs, while accurately completing documentation and weekly fire alarm checks, and able to work professionally in a school setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out general electrical maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
- Complete minor electrical works, including small installations, repairs, and component replacements.
- Perform Emergency Lighting (EML) testing to ensure all systems remain compliant and fully operational.
- Undertake remedial electrical repairs and replacements, resolving faults efficiently to maintain building safety and functionality.
- Accurately complete all relevant documentation, including job sheets, compliance records, and reports required under the PFI or school contract.
- Conduct weekly fire alarm testing, ensuring all systems meet statutory and contractual requirements.
- Support statutory and PFI compliance by following set procedures, KPIs, and reporting standards.
Key requirements:
- Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance within commercial or public sector buildings, ideally in a school or PFI environment.
- Strong understanding of PPM, minor electrical repairs, remedial works, EML testing, and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to complete accurate documentation, compliance logs, and job records to contractual standards.
- Strong communication and customer service skills when liaising with school staff, site managers, and FM teams.
- Willingness to undergo or already possess a valid enhanced DBS clearance due to the school setting.
