Pinnacle Group are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support the wider finance team in processing and delivering high-quality financial insight and operational support to our Divisional Operations Teams.

In this role, you will you will play a key role in month-end processes, management reporting, financial analysis, business partnering, and budgeting activities, helping to drive informed decision-making across the business.

Our Finance Team is part of our Central Services, providing expert support to all areas of the business.

They help ensure our operations run efficiently, embrace best practice and stay financially strong – enabling our teams to deliver on our mission to Transform Communities and Change Lives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing and analysing financial information and reporting requirements, with a strong commercial mindset and excellent analytical skills.

Part-qualified or actively studying towards an accounting qualification is desirable, although not essential.

You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and business partner with stakeholders at all levels, translating financial information into meaningful insights.

Key responsibilities

  • Finance processing: Oversee month-end financial processes in collaboration with operations teams, ensuring all financial process are completed for month end within the finance system.

This includes but is not limited to Accruals, prepayments, deferred income, monthly adjustments, revenue invoices, balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Business Partner Support: Through an understanding of divisional P&Ls, provide financial insight and support to profit centre managers and Operations Directors.

Prepare monthly management accounts and identify variance analysis to discuss with operational leads.

  • Reporting and

Analysis: Working alongside Finance colleagues, ensuring accurate and timely accounting, reporting and analysis of the key P&L components including revenue recognition, internal and external (subcontractor) costs, and other operating costs.

  • Budgeting and

Forecasting: Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Maintain budget models and assist in updating forecasts based on operational inputs.

  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for business / financial process improvements and recommend and implement solutions where appropriate.
  • Adhoc analysis and trouble-shooting: Provide ad hoc financial analysis and modelling as required by the Finance Business Partner or wider finance team.

Provide support on internal and external audit queries with the Group Finance team.

  • Key requirements
  • Part-Qualified/Studying – preferable but not essential.
  • Experience in preparing, analysing, and implementing accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively to meet changing priorities and demands.
  • Ability to business partner and communicate with non-finance stakeholders effectively and articulately.
  • Proven track record in effective facilitation and communication at multiple levels
  • Business acumen and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to gather, analyse and present data.
