Pinnacle Group are seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager to join our Technology & Innovation team, part of our Central Division. You will take ownership of the organisation's laptop estate (1,000 devices), ensuring the MSP provides effective lifecycle management, strong controls, and seamless provision for new joiners, leavers, and replacements. The role is critical in maintaining operational continuity, reducing downtime and ensuring assets are tracked, cost‑controlled and utilised efficiently.
Our Technology & Innovation Team drives digital transformation across the business – delivering smart solutions that improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Supporting our 4,000 colleagues nationwide, the team plays a key role in enabling continuous improvement aligned with our mission to Transform Communities and Change Lives.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in IT asset management, with a strong focus on control, accuracy, and process. They will have demonstrable experience managing third‑party IT service providers and holding them accountable for delivery. They will be confident managing asset lifecycles at scale, taking a structured and methodical approach to implementing repeatable processes and engaging effectively with stakeholders across IT, Human Resources, and the wider business. Ideally, they will also bring experience working in high‑volume device environments, familiarity with asset management tools and the ability to produce clear reporting and insights, alongside a good understanding of IT security and compliance standards.
This is a 6‑month fixed term contract with provision to be based in Holborn, London one day per week. The role will suit someone who is available to start immediately.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and manage the managed service provider delivering the end‑to‑end lifecycle of all laptops, including procurement, provisioning, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and disposal.
- Ensure laptops are provided in a timely manner to meet business needs and maintain operational continuity.
- Implement and manage a structured refresh and replacement programme (e.g. 3‑4 year lifecycle).
- Own and optimise the joiner, mover, and leaver process end‑to‑end with the managed service provider.
- Ensure all new joiners receive devices on day one (including pre‑delivery where required) and all assets are recovered from leavers and redeployed where viable.
- Maintain a real‑time tracker covering joiner requests, device status (ordered, built, shipped, deployed), and leaver recovery and redeployment.
- Work closely with Human Resources, hiring managers, and IT support teams to remove bottlenecks and improve process efficiency.
- Maintain a centralised asset register with a full audit trail, including ownership, location, age, condition, and warranty/support status.
- Enforce strong controls across replacement approvals (avoiding tick‑box sign‑off), stock usage, asset recovery, and governance checkpoints for all requests.
- Act as the primary interface with IT service providers, monitoring performance against service levels (delivery times, build quality, incident resolution), escalating issues, and holding suppliers accountable for stock levels and turnaround times while driving continuous improvement.
- Define and maintain optimal buffer stock levels, implementing forecasting based on hiring trends, replacement cycles, and failure rates.
- Ensure devices are available to meet demand and avoid operational disruption.
- Produce regular reporting on device utilisation, joiner and leaver turnaround times, replacement volumes, stock levels, supplier performance, and proactively highlight risks, bottlenecks, and cost inefficiencies.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT asset management, end‑user computing, or service operations.
- Experience managing asset registers and full asset lifecycle processes at scale.
- Experience working with third‑party IT service providers.
- Ability to design and implement structured, repeatable processes.
- Strong stakeholder management across IT, HR, and operational teams.
Desirable:
- Experience in organisations managing 500+ devices, familiarity with ITSM / asset tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Intune, SCCM), building reporting dashboards and KPIs, and knowledge of IT security and compliance standards (e.g. ISO27001).
