Pinnacle Group are looking for an experienced and strategic Commercial Director to help shape and lead the commercial direction of our organisation. This is a senior leadership role, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and wider executive teams. The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK, but regular travel to our London Head Office and other regional offices across the UK will be required.
We are seeking an experienced commercial leader with a strong background in the real estate, property, housing or built environment sectors. Someone who understands the commercial drivers of complex service contracts and can operate confidently at scale. You will bring a proven ability to balance growth, risk and profitability, alongside the credibility to influence senior stakeholders across a diverse, multi-service organisation.
You will play a critical role in driving sustainable growth, enhancing profitability and ensuring strong commercial governance across the business. You will work collaboratively with operational, legal, finance and growth teams to align commercial strategy with our wider corporate vision, ensuring we continue to deliver value to our clients and communities.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop a commercial strategy to align to the business strategy.
- Support the bidding and growth team developing growth plans, pricing models, and bid strategies.
- Work closely with the Legal team on the negotiation of (customer and supplier) contracts and other commercial matters, providing instructions as necessary in a timely manner.
- Develop, review and test operating models across the business to find opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth and margin enhancement.
- Provide support and analysis for any merger and acquisition activity.
- Undertake contract audits to ensure key contract deliverables are achieved.
- Ensure contract compliance, working alongside operational managers and central functions.
- Work with operations to review underperforming contracts and develop action plans to improve performance or dispose.
- Mentor managers to help develop their commercial awareness, skills and know-how.
- Support the business to minimise regulatory or contractual breaches and proactively resolve disputes.
- Identify emerging commercial risks and issues and design / implement risk management mitigation strategies.
- Develop contract reporting insights from underlying Contract Management and Delivery Systems (e.g. Dynamics, Qube, Jobwatch).
- Embed strong processes across procurement, cost control and forecasting.
- Enhance supply chain control.
- Promote and demonstrate innovation and continuous improvement, supporting Projects teams on delivering new technologies and business solutions.
Key Requirements:
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with experience operating at senior level.
- Extensive industry experience (real estate or property sector desirable).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to respond to changing market conditions.
- Good understanding of governance, risk, and assurance.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to achieve balanced commercial outcomes.
- Track record of delivering measurable performance improvements.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience reviewing financial statements and management accounts.
- High attention to detail, accuracy and analytical capability.
- Understanding of audit, compliance, or regulatory environments.
- Ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders, including Board/Executive level.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
