Pinnacle Group are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information across the business.

The role will involve supporting month-end processes, including journal postings, management accounts preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting activities, cash flow reporting, and audit support.

You will also work closely with the wider Finance and Operations teams to enhance processes, systems, and reporting, while providing valuable financial insights that support informed business decision-making.

Our Finance Team is part of our Central Services, providing expert support to all areas of the business.

They help ensure our operations run efficiently, embrace best practice and stay financially strong – enabling our teams to deliver on our mission to Transform Communities and Change Lives.

The ideal candidate will have previous finance experience, with exposure to management accounts considered advantageous, although not essential.

They will be actively studying towards an AAT, ACCA, or CIMA qualification and be eager to continue their professional development.

The successful individual will be hardworking, organised and resilient, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • Month end close – preparing monthly timetable for circulation and s, processing journals, and assisting with the preparation of accurate and meaningful monthly Management Accounts in accordance with agreed timescales.
  • Assist with Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for all Group companies, including corrections and adjustments.
  • In conjunction with the wider Finance Team and Operations continually look to improve processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Support operational management by providing reliable reporting and ad-hoc additional information on request.
  • Annual budget process – assist with preparation and analysis of year-on-year variances.
  • Provide support with annual audit process – audit fieldwork.
  • Assist with the preparation of daily Cash flow reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Key Requirements

  • Previous finance experience, ideally within an Assistant Management Accountant, Accounts Assistant, or similar role.
  • Studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA and committed to progressing a career in finance.
  • Knowledge of month-end accounting processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work accurately with large volumes of financial data.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
