Are you a technically strong IT Desktop Support Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems rather than just resetting passwords? PinkWorm Recruitment is partnering with an established, well-respected and growing financial services group investing heavily in its in-house IT Service Desk function. They're building their own in-house service desk team and now require a hands-on 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer on a fixed term basis, to help them make an immediate impact.

What you'll be doing:

  • Resolving escalated hardware, software & network issues
  • Supporting Windows and/or Linux server environments
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure & performance issues
  • Acting as a senior escalation point within the Service Desk
  • Contributing to service improvement and documentation

About you:

  • Proven 2nd or 3rd Line support experience
  • Strong infrastructure troubleshooting skills
  • Windows and/or Linux server exposure
  • Experience with ITSM/ticketing tools (ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus would be a bonus)
  • Organised, solutions-focused approach with ability to manage multiple priorities and work well independently as well as a team
  • Bonus points for if you have MCP, Comp TIA Network+, Microsoft 365, Entra, Exchange, PowerShell or ITIL certifications.
  • It would be great if you also had some knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell)
