We are currently supporting a welcoming primary school in Brighton who are seeking a full-time SEND teaching assistant to join their team on a long-term basis, initially until Easter. This is a split role across the day, offering variety and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with pupils who have additional needs.

The Role

  • Mornings: Working 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil who is non-verbal, providing consistent, nurturing support and helping the child access learning and daily routines.
  • Afternoons: Supporting small groups in Year 3, working with pupils with high SEND needs in a calm, structured, and nurturing environment.

This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone who is patient, compassionate, and confident supporting children with complex needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with SEND learners (essential).
  • A current DBS on the Update Service (essential).
  • A nurturing, calm, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with class teachers and the wider school team.

Role Details

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday.
  • Start: As soon as possible.
  • Duration: Until Easter initially.
  • Pay: £89 per day.
