Pink Tile Education is supporting a secondary school in Brighton that is seeking a Teacher of Science to join their team from September, on a full-time, ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Science teacher to support teaching and learning within a dynamic secondary school environment, working across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Role Details

  • Position: Teacher of Science - Second in charge
  • Location: Brighton
  • Start Date: September
  • Contract: Full-time, ongoing
  • Key Stages: KS3 – KS4

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering high-quality Science learning experiences
  • Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups to raise attainment and close learning gaps
  • Support practical Science lessons, including preparation, setup, and safe use of laboratory equipment
  • Ensure all practical work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures
  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet the needs of different learners
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support classroom behaviour management and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Encourage student engagement, curiosity, and enthusiasm for Science
  • Assist with marking, assessment, and general departmental support as required

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ESSENTIAL
  • Have a strong background in Science education
  • Be confident teaching and supporting KS3 and KS4 students
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to student progress
  • Be able to build positive relationships with both students and staff

Requirements

  • Must hold QTS (non-negotiable)
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Available to start in September
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science
