We’re working with a specialist SEMH setting in Portsmouth looking for a Pupil Support Worker to support students in Key Stages 3 & 4 who need something different from mainstream education. This isn’t a standard classroom role. These are students who need consistency, patience and someone firmly in their corner. Progress doesn’t always look like perfect work – sometimes it’s simply showing up, engaging, or trusting an adult for the first time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students
- Supporting pupils in lessons, 1:1 and in small groups
- Helping students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
- Providing calm, consistent support during challenging moments
- Supporting positive behaviour using trauma-informed approaches
- Working closely with teachers and wider support staff
