Pink Tile Education is recruiting an English Teacher on behalf of a specialist education provider in Portsmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking alternative provision that supports young people through a personalised and creative approach to education.

Working with secondary-aged learners, you'll play a vital role in helping students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

The provision incorporates vocational pathways and enrichment opportunities, including a football-focused programme designed to promote engagement, personal development and life skills.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will

  • Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons to secondary-aged students.
  • Adapt learning to meet a range of individual needs and abilities.
  • Support learners who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.
  • Foster positive relationships and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure students achieve their full potential.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with students.
  • Demonstrates resilience, flexibility and a solution-focused approach.
  • Has experience within alternative provision, SEMH or specialist settings (desirable but not essential).
