We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our SEN team to provide essential support for students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including complex needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for students with complex needs, ensuring their full participation in classroom activities and school life.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SEN Coordinator (SENCO) to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions to support students' academic progress and personal development.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance, when required.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom and wider school community.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies and individual behaviour plans.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students, fostering their independence and self-esteem.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN support.

Detailed Role Description

1. One-to-One Support

As a SEN TA, you will be responsible for providing dedicated one-to-one support to students with complex needs. This involves:

  • Developing a strong, trusting relationship with assigned students.
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Supporting students' participation in classroom activities, ensuring they can access the curriculum.
