About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s emotional, social, and academic development and who thrives in a collaborative school environment. As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils, staff, and families to remove barriers to learning and help children achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to pupils who need additional support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to reports and reviews.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people in an educational or pastoral setting.
  • Be empathetic, patient, and skilled in building trusting relationships.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in mentoring, youth work, or education (desirable but not essential).
