We are recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils within a specialist SEND setting in Burgess Hill. This is a long-term, ongoing role, starting immediately.

This position is suited to someone with proven experience supporting pupils with complex needs who is confident and comfortable with personal care responsibilities, including nappy changes.

The role:

  • Supporting primary-aged pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups under the direction of the class teacher
  • Providing personal care, including toileting and nappy changes
  • Supporting learning, communication and emotional regulation
  • Promoting a safe, structured and nurturing environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and wider support staff

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with complex needs and SEND (essential)
  • Experience within a specialist provision or SEND setting preferred
  • Confidence carrying out personal care duties
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and professional boundaries
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
