Are you an English Teacher who believes every young person deserves a second chance to succeed? We are recruiting for a dedicated English Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Burgess Hill supporting students aged 5–16. The provision works with young people who may be unable to access mainstream education due to SEMH needs, anxiety, behavioural challenges, medical needs, or previous school-based difficulties.

The Role

  • Deliver English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Create engaging lessons that inspire students who may have become disengaged from education.
  • Support students academically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Build positive relationships and create a safe learning environment.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support student progress and wellbeing.

  • Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
