🌟 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School 🌟

We are working with a lovely primary school in Selsey who are looking for a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September.

This rewarding role involves supporting a pupil with additional needs who requires individualised support throughout the school day. The child can present challenging behaviour and may sometimes refuse to be in the classroom, so we are looking for someone with experience in SEND settings who is confident in supporting children who become dysregulated.

The child loves puzzles and thrives with adult support, so building a positive and trusting relationship will be key to helping him engage in learning and enjoy his time at school. This is a role where patience and empathy are essential, as forming a bond will take time – but the rewards of seeing progress will be worth it!

The Role:

  • Working 1:1 with a pupil with additional needs
  • Supporting with emotional regulation and engagement in learning
  • Using his interests to redirect focus and create a calm atmosphere.
  • Encouraging participation in classroom activities and providing alternative support where needed.
  • Using your patience and creativity to build a strong relationship over time.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: £89 per day
  • Start: September
  • Experience: Previous SEND experience required, particularly with children who may become dysregulated or need extra emotional support
