Overview

Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Worthing in their search for a confident and adaptable Unqualified Teacher / Cover Supervisor to join their team in September. This is a full‑time permanent position working across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering pre‑set work, and supporting student learning across a range of subjects within a structured and positive learning environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes during the absence of teaching staff.
  • Deliver pre‑set work and ensure students remain on task throughout lessons.
  • Where appropriate, support learning by explaining tasks and guiding students.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and focused learning environment.
  • Provide support to students to help them engage with learning activities.
  • Report any issues, concerns, or incidents to relevant staff.
  • Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff.
  • Support the wider school team as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote positive student behaviour at all times.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • Confident in leading a classroom environment.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Calm, professional, and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students to remain on task.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
