Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking specialist provision in Worthing. This is an exciting opportunity to work with secondary-aged students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are working significantly below age-related academic expectations.
The successful candidate will be committed to building positive relationships, raising aspirations, and helping students develop both academically and personally in a nurturing and structured environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Many pupils have experienced disrupted education and require a highly personalised approach to learning, alongside consistent emotional support and behaviour management. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and the skills needed for future success.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching secondary-aged students
- Understands the challenges faced by pupils with SEMH needs
- Can adapt learning to meet a wide range of abilities and learning profiles
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Is patient, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for every student
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
