Location: Worthing | Pay: £14.25 to £16.40 per hour | Contract: Temporary, permanent, temp-to-perm | Start: As soon as possible or September.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them manage routines, regulate emotions, access lessons and build positive relationships.
- Pupils may present with anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, autism, trauma‑related needs, challenging behaviour or difficulty coping with the demands of the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement individual working plans.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support and deliver behaviour management strategies.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and external agencies where necessary.
Required Qualities:
- Compassionate, resilient and confident with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong boundaries, proactive support and willingness to celebrate small wins.
- Experience or background in mental health support, youth work, care, mentoring, pastoral care or behaviour intervention is desirable.
